Trever van Riemsdkyk ~ It’s UNH

Hooksett, NH -The New Hampshire Junior Monarchs are pleased to announce that defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk will be attending the University of New Hampshire in the fall of 2011. The name “van Riemsdyk” is one that is familiar to and quite loved by followers of the UNH hockey program as Trevor’s brother James spent two highly productive seasons at the school amassing 74 points and leading the team in scoring last season. James is now playing for the Philadelphia Flyers and enjoying quite a rookie campaign.

There has been nothing but a buzz surrounding Trevor since he made his debut with the Monarchs this season. Coming from Christian Brothers Academy in New Jersey, Trevor was a relative unknown to many collegiate coaches. To see just the name “van Riemsdyk” on a roster garnered some attention at first, but it was Trevor’s smooth play and incredible poise as an offensive rearguard that earned him the real attention. In 21 games Trevor has 26 points, which places him in a tie for 2nd amongst defenseman in the league.

Trevor narrowed down his choice to UNH after considering similar offers from Providence, Northeastern, and UVM as well. He is the son of Allison and Frans van Riemsdyk of Middletown, NJ.

Zak is the son of Carolyn and Lenny Stone of Roslyn, NY.
