Current Role with New Hampshire Junior Monarchs
Kevin Purdy is entering his 12th season with the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs organization with over 20 years of coaching experience. For the past two years he has served as an assistant for the U16 program helping guide them to win the EJPHL league championship and runner-ups in the highly scouted ECEL league.
Prior Coaching Experience
He started in the youth programs and joined the Monarchs in 2004 winning several state and regional championships at the Bantam and Midget levels. In addition coached Division 1 New Hampshire high school program for three years and guided the team to its first winning season and playoffs. Kevin was an Empire League assistant to Coach Ryan Frew for one season. Following that Kevin was offered and accepted the head coaching position for the Monarchs Junior B ESHL team. He guided that team that never before made it past the regular season to its first ever playoff berth during his first year.
Prior Playing/Other Experience
His second year at the helm he guided the team to its first league championship finals and qualified them for the Tier III Junior B Nationals and that same year he was also awarded the W. David Tyler Award of the Eastern States Hockey League Coach of the Year honors. After that he was asked to be co-head coach of the new U16 program for the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs.
Kevin also has experience as a player over the years including playing four years at Memorial High School winning the state championship and one year at New Prep in Cambridge Massachusetts. For the past three years Kevin has been involved with coaching the New Hampshire Festival teams. And this year he was co-coach of the EJPHL all-star game. Kevin has been a life-long resident of Manchester, New Hampshire. Kevin is married to Pam and has two children; Jen (28) and Sean (25).
