Mountain Leads Monarchs to Weekend Sweep

Hooksett, NH –The Monarchs continued their winning ways, adding 3 more victories this past weekend, bringing their current win streak to 10, the EJHL’s longest of the season.

Kyle Mountain would prove to have the offensive highlight of the weekend in Sunday’s win over the New York Applecore, scoring a hat trick to remain the Monarchs’ season leader in goals with 18. Mountain would finish the 3 game stretch with 5 points in 3 games. Another Monarch having a lot of success on the scoresheet recently is UMaine recruit Matt Mangene. Mangene has apparently had little trouble adjusting to his new position as a defensemen for the Monarchs. His 8 points in 3 games are proof of that.

The 3 wins came in 1 game against the New England Huskies, and 2 with the New York Applecore. In the 3 games the Monarchs averaged 5 goals per game, scoring a total of 15, while their opponents averaged only 1.6 for 5 total goals against. The next few weeks will prove to be some of the busiest of the year for the team, as they still have 3 makeup games and the remainder of their regular season, which concludes on February 22nd. This weekend the Monarchs will host the Green Mountain Glades at Tri Town Arena for 2 games.
