The New Hampshire Junior Monarchs are pleased to announce that 1998 Forward, Matt Hayes from Salem, NH has committed to Saint Anselm College in Goffstown, NH to continue his hockey and academic career. Hayes plans to study Finance and says he chose Saint A’s because he felt comfortable with the coaching staff and that he truly felt like he was wanted there.
Hayes, who came to the Monarchs through a trade, helped push through the second half of the season. Tallying 6 points in the 18 games he played for the NCDC team. Before joining the Monarchs in January, Hayes played the role of Captain for the South Shore Kings – with 6 goals and 6 assists during this season. “Junior hockey was a much different experience to what I was used to in the hockey world” Hayes said. “I learned how to really fight through adversity and how to be a leader.”
The Monarchs would like to wish Matt and his family the best of luck as he transitions into college this fall all while joining teammate and Salem NH resident, Chris Lemay.
