The New Hampshire Junior Monarchs are proud to announce that 1999 Forward, Rob Ferreira of Salem, NH has committed to Suffolk University in Boston, MA to continue his hockey and academic career. Ferreira says he chose Suffolk because he was given the opportunity to continue playing hockey and study in Boston, a city that he grew up right outside of. “After spending my 2 previous years at Vermont Academy it feels good being back in the city” said Ferreira. During his time at Suffolk, Rob plans to study business.
The 6’1 center who had 3 goals and 8 assists during the regular season for the NCDC team said coming to Juniors from Prep School was a change. “The pace and physicality as well as the systematic aspect of play is really different.” Rob continued, “if you can manage those at the NCDC place you may find yourself in the lineup.” During his season with the Monarchs Rob says he learned the true meaning of a bond. “I don’t think I’ve ever been closer to a group of guys.” He continued, “I’ll tell you the same thing anyone would tell you about their Junior Hockey experience, it was the best time of my life and I love all of those guys like brothers. It’s something you hate to see end.”
We would like to wish Rob and his family the best of luck and continued success as he heads to college this fall.
