The NH Jr Monarchs are very proud to report the selection of two of their newest players to the US Under 18 and Under 17 teams this past summer. Billy Eiserman, a UMass Lowell recruit for 2011, and Alex Gacek, a Miami-Ohio recruit for 2011, were both chosen to represent the US oversees this past summer in international competition.
Billy, a ’92 birth year from Newburyport, MA was chosen to play defense for the Under 18 team in the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament held in Piestany, Slovakia. The team finished in fourth place at the tournament and Billy gained some valuable experience that will undoubtedly help him adjust to the fast pace of the Eastern Junior League.
A ’93 birth year from Dracut, MA, Alex was the only player from that state selected to the US Under 17 team that competed in the 2009 Under 17 Five Nations Tournament in Fussen, Germany. Team USA finished the tournament in third place with a 2-0-0-2 record, and Alex recorded a hat trick in the team’s final game against the tournament’s host team, Germany.
Both players will be expected to adjust quickly to the rigors of playing in the EJHL and play key roles in helping the Monarchs achieve the success that the program has enjoyed in recent years.
Billy is the son of Dianne and Bill Eiserman of Newburyport, MA. Alex is the son of Janet and Mark Gacek of Dracut, MA.
