Dumoulin Signs With Hurricanes

Raleigh, NC- 2009 EJHL Defensive Player of the Year and two-time NCAA All-American Brian Dumoulin has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.

The New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs alum played three years at Boston College, winning NCAA championships in 2010 and 2012. During his three seasons, he collected two First Team All-American honors (2011, 2012), two Hockey East Best Defensive Defensemen awards, and two All-Hockey East First Team honors. He helped the Eagles win three consecutive Hockey East titles and represented the United States at the 2011 World Junior Championships in Buffalo, NY. He was also named a Hobey Baker Finalist this past season.

Brian played for the Monarchs in the 2008-09 season, leading the team to the EJHL regular season title. After the season, the Hurricanes selected him in the second round (51st overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The Biddeford, ME, native will immediately join the Charlotte Checkers Carolina’s AHL affiliate.
