The New Hampshire Junior Monarchs are pleased to announce that 1998 Premier forward, Spencer DeRidder of Fairport, NY has committed to Salem State University in Salem, MA to continue his hockey and academic career. DeRidder chose Salem because of the campus layout, “the rink and facility is very nice and right on campus” Deridder said. “Only a 20-minute train ride into Boston and the town of Salem is very nice with lots to do.”
DeRidder currently has 14 points in 14 games since joining the Premier team in January. The 6’0/180lbs skilled forward plans to get his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration during his time at SSU. DeRidder played for Coach Morrow on the Monarchs Elite team during the 2016-2017 season tallying 62 points in 39 games. Spencer says, “through junior hockey I’ve learned to give 110% in everything you do. [I’ve] made some great friends along the way as well.”
The organization would like to wish Spencer and his family the best of luck as he advances to college this fall.
