Blad commits to Wentworth University

The NH Jr. Monarchs are excited to announce that 1998 Defenseman Anthony Blad of Suffield, CT has committed to Wentworth University in Boston, MA. Blad will start school during the second semester and continue playing in the 2019-2020 season. “I toured the school with the coach and got to meet some of the current guys on the team, who all had nothing but great things to say and were very welcoming to me.” Blad continued, “The school being in Boston also helped me make my decision.” He will be studying Construction Management.

Blad, at 6’3/193lbs had been dealing with tough injuries this season. After some discussion he found it best to get classes started during the second semester to give his body time to heal and getting ahead when it comes to classes. Blad said playing junior hockey is an experience that he will never forget, “I was pushed to be better on the ice, had the opportunity to reach out to the community and help in any way we could, as well as how to live on my own.” He continued, “throughout this process I made some amazing friends who will be with me for the rest of my life, as well as several stories on and off the ice that I will never forget.”

The Monarchs would like to wish Blad the best of luck with his continued recovery and as he continues his hockey career at the college level.
