Beattie a Black Bear

Hooksett, NH – The New Hampshire Junior Monarchs are very pleased to announce that forward Kyle Beattie has committed to the University of Maine for the Fall of 2010.

A terrific rookie regular season in the EJ culminated in an offer from a program that Beattie had set his sights on for a long time. Kyle has always been a big fan of UMaine hockey, and his dream of one day calling Alfond Arena home was realized this past weekend with an offer from Head Coach Tim Whitehead.

In 43 games this season Beattie had 60 points with 20 of those points being goals. In 18 games in the 2nd half Beattie had 33 points, failing to score in only 4 of those games. Beattie spent the last season playing for the PF Changs midget program in Arizona before coming east to the Monarchs this season.

“I would like to thank the coaching staff of Maine for this wonderful opportunity to play for a program with so much history and tradition. It has always been my dream and goal to play Division 1 hockey and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to go to the University of Maine”, states Kyle. “I would also like to thank Coach Tremblay and Coach Dennehy for all the great work that they have done in helping me realize my dream.”

Kyle is the son of Tom and Mary Beth Beattie of Avondale, AZ.
